About

I am a product development leader with proven experience in medical devices, team leadership, business development, proposal creation, concept generation, CAD, mechanism development, electromechanical integration, and design for manufacturing. My work has resulted in over 20 US patents and multiple IDSA and MDEA awards.

I led product development projects in medical and diagnostics at Bridge Design starting in 2006 and directed the engineering department starting in 2008. Bridge Design merged into Ximedica in 2015 and I directed site operations for the first year of transition and directed engineering in San Francisco until 2020. I then transitioned to the role of principal mechanical engineer. During the pandemic, my entire focus has been the development of PCR-based in vitro diagnostic systems.

I have been working as a mechanical design engineer since the year 2000. My early experience was in developing consumer electronics at Foundation Design for clients such as Kodak, Palm, and Netgear. I graduated from UC Berkeley with a B.S. in mechanical engineering in 1999.

As a longtime athlete and former professional modern dancer, I have deeply engrained biomechanical sensibilities that bolster my intuition for usability and ergonomics problem-solving.

Specialties: technical leadership, mechanical engineering, mechanism design, CAD, ergonomics & usability, brainstorming & ideation, project management, design for manufacturability, design of medical devices, in vitro diagnostics, opto-mechanical design, design for developing world, wilderness leadership, modern dance.
